Mr. Christopher Lee “Chris” Marshall, 61, resident of Quinby, VA, a former longtime resident of Eastville, VA, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 2, 1954, in Nassawadox, VA, he was a son of the late Norman Upshur Marshall and Yvonne Louise Asselin Marshall. Chris served his country as a Seabee in the United States Navy where he began training as a diesel mechanic. Following his service, he completed numerous diesel mechanic programs and later worked for Gerald Moore & Sons and Bundick Well & Pump Co. In his spare time, you would find Chris tinkering in his woodshop, turning metal to create the perfect motor, or heading out to cast a line.

He is survived by a brother, William “Carroll” Marshall and wife Debbie and their children, Kimberly Marshall Stevens and husband Michael and their children, Emma and Nicholas, Michael Marshall and wife Natasha and their children, Chelsey and Brittany, all of Quinby; sister, Nilessa Marshall Alpert and husband Paul and their children, Hannah and Joshua, all of Phoenixville, PA; sister, Norma Marshall Carpenter and husband Wayne of Quinby and their children, Shannon Woodall and husband Brian and their children, Noah and Patrick, all of Greenville, NC, and their daughter, Leanna M. Pusey and husband Trevor and their children, Vianna Katherine and Adda Grace, all of Shelby, NC, their daughter, Meredith Woodall and Kevin and their daughter, Kaitlyn Renee, all of Princess Anne, MD; Karen Willet and husband Ray and their son, Ethan, all of Parksley, VA, Megan Ames and husband Phil and their children, Leila, Jeremy, and Kendall, all of Chesterfield, VA, and Elizabeth Carpenter of Quinby.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Quinby Cemetery on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Steve Doan, officiating.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, 608 Denbigh Blvd., Suite 700, Newport News, VA 23608.
