Una was born to Alonzo Andy Brown and Julia Ramoth Younger on February 1st, 1910 in Beaver County, Oklahoma. She was the 5th child born out of 14 children, which includes a set of twins, and they all grew to adulthood. In 1931 she met William Eugene Colson after moving to the Two Buttes area in Prowers County, Colorado. She and Gene married in Lamar on October 1st, 1932. They had four children together, Julia Marie, Robert Eugene, Patsy Louise, and Anna Loraine. She lost her little 2 yr old Patsy on August 30th, 1939 to the whooping cough. The marriage lasted for 66 years before Gene died in 1999. In about 1949 they moved to Commerce City, Colorado where they lived the remainder of their lives. Una was a very soft spoken, gentle and honest person. She loved going to church, reading the bible, and enjoyed crocheting. Una had a very good since of humor, and loved to laugh. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, and a very much loved mother and Grandmother. Before Una died, she was in fairly good health, still walking, and her memory was very good. Una passed away on February 16th, 2000, two weeks after her 90th birthday from a brain aneurism. She is dearly missed and thought of every single day.
