Marilyn Sue Sims, 80, of Greencastle, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Putnam County Hospital.

Marilyn was born in Indianapolis on May 19, 1939, the daughter of Kendrell Martin and Thelma Ruth (Albertson) Horton.

She was a graduate of Cloverdale High School.

Mrs. Sims was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

She was a real estate agent with Bob Evans Real Estate for many years.

Survivors include a son, Michael O’Shaughnessy, (wife-Cynthia), Cedar Park, Texas; two stepsons, Dale Sims (wife-Veann), Avon, and David Sims (wife-Lisa), Fillmore; seven grandchildren, Ryan O’Shaughnessy, Georgetown, Texas, Cayla O’Shaughnessy, Georgetown, Texas, Kyle O’Shaughnessy, Cedar Park, Texas, Megan Wilmes, Indianapolis, Holly Cooper, Harmony, J.D. Sims, Greencastle and John Sims, Arlington, Virginia; and three great-grandchildren, Rylee O’Shaughnessy, Georgetown, Texas, and Sophia Wilmes and Reid Wilmes, both of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Sims and Jim Shaughnessy; a daughter, Kathy Shaughnessy; and a grandson, Jason Sims.

A memorial blessing will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to time of service.
