Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.
Rick was born on July 18, 1958, in Moline, the son of Gerald W. and Norma V. (Slocum) Anderson. Rick was a graduate of Moline High School Class of 1977. He married his true love and best friend, Rosa M. Soto, on March 5, 2016, in Moline. Rick had been employed as a truck driver for Murray’s Trucking and Storage.
Rick was a left-handed Arm Wrestling State Champion in both Iowa and Illinois. He was active with drag racing at the Cordova Drag Strip. He enjoyed woodworking and riding his Harley with his friends and wife, Rosa.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa; sons, Matt (Breanne) Anderson, of Coal Valley, Michael (Elizabeth) Anderson, of Moline; daughter, Korin Benson, of Virginia; stepdaughter, Anita (Johnny) Calderon, of Milan; stepson, Gavin Steadman, of Moline; seven grandchildren; mother, Norma Anderson, of Moline; sisters, Jeri Anderson, of Moline, and Lori (Jerry) Langenbahn, of Mapleton, Ill.; brother, Terry (Patty) Anderson, of Davenport; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
