William Kilbourn was the son of Josiah Kilbourn(e) 1730-1812, and Anne / Anna Neal 1734-1801. He was a private during the Revolutionary War, serving in the American forces from CT and was at the Battle of long Island. He is a recognized DAR patriot, A065742.
He married Sarah Sage on 21 Aug 1786 in Connecticut. Although she remarried after his death, she is buried next to him. As listed in several wills, including that of William Kilbourn's aunt, they had the following children:
