Stanley W. Dicke, age 80, of rural Mendon, passed away Thursday evening, May 23, 2019, at The Gardens at Celina.

Born July 20, 1938, in Mercer County, he was a son of Ralph & Lavon ( Wiehe ) Dicke.

Stanley and Jesselyn Janell Suhr were married November 5, 1960, and she survives, along with their five children: Lynn ( Pat ) Hancock of Union, KY, Cheryl ( Ed ) Jaksic of Enon, OH, Kim ( Bob ) Behne of Maineville, OH, Michael ( Anita ) Dicke of Celina, and Scott ( April ) Dicke of Mendon, and his pet dachshund, McDuff.

Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren: Joshua Hancock, Nichole Drew, Brittany Riehle, Heather Acton, Jesselyn Behne, Alexandria Behne, Jamie Green, Courtney Dicke, Devin Dicke, Haley Dicke, Zachary Dicke, Gavin Dicke and Olivia Dicke, eight great-grandchildren, and a brother & sister: Larry ( Dianne ) Dicke and Oneta Lyda, of New Bremen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Ed & Katheryn Suhr, sister-in-law, Phyllis Ann Suhr, and brother-in-law, Christopher Lyda.

A 1956 graduate of New Bremen High School, Stanley served in the Army Reserves. He had worked for Hirschfeld Builders of St. Marys. Stanley was a co-owner of Preferred Builders of St. Marys, and was also a farmer.

He was a member of Hamilton-Bethel United Methodist Church, near Mendon, the Mendon Lions Club, Celina Moose Lodge #1473, St. Marys Eagles Aerie #767, and had served on the Mendon-Union School Board.

Stanley enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He enjoyed going for coffee with the guys in Mendon, and watching the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in CELINA, with Pastor Rob Glenn officiating.

Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Celina American Legion Post #210 and Celina VFW Post #5713.

Calling Hours are 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, and an hour prior to time of services on Wednesday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in CELINA.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association or State of the Heart Care.
