Marilyn L. Goodwin, 88, of Ottumwa, died at 7:13 p.m. May 23, 2019 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was born February 21, 1931 in Ottumwa to Harold and Dorothy Lanman Moore. Marilyn married Andrew Jack Goodwin on January 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2016.

A resident of Ottumwa all of her life, Marilyn worked as a custodian at Smith Warren School and Ottumwa High School, retiring in 1982.

Marilyn was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star Rose Chapter #552. She enjoyed painting and crocheting.

Surviving are her children, Lyle (Janice) Goodwin of Ottumwa, and Carmen Thomas of Tucson, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Jodi) Goodwin, Nicholas Goodwin, Zachary Thomas, Tara Wright, Lara Stern; 3 great-grandchildren, Halle Wright, Phebe Wright and Karlie Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Michael Goodwin Sr., a son, Richard Goodwin and a brother, Harold Moore Jr.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to Arthritis Foundation.
