Tommy Glenn Wyatt, 84, of Princeton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at a care facility in Farmersville, Texas. He was born February 16, 1935 in Climax, Texas, to Thomas and Josephine Wyatt.
Tommy graduated from Farmersville High School in 1953 and was a member of the Air Force from 1955 to 1959. In 1957 Tommy wed Betty Hyatt Vandeventer, and they began their married life in Austin, Texas. After his time serving in the military, Tommy became a firefighter. In November of 1959 he started his lifelong career with the Dallas Fire Department which lasted for 26 years. He and Betty made their home in Frisco, Texas, moved to Little Elm, Texas, and built their final dream home in Princeton, Texas. Tommy was an active member of the Princeton Church of Christ serving as a deacon and an elder. He was an avid camper and enjoyed countless trips in which he saw every corner of the country he loved. He had a special talent for wood working and enjoyed carving throughout his retirement years. He also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and spent many hours completing complicated and intricate designs.
Tommy is survived by his current wife Betty Freeman Wyatt. Tommy had one daughter and son-in-law Sheryl and Tim Beavers of Sugarland, Texas, two sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Nancy Wyatt of Plano, Texas and Jeff and Susan Wyatt of Anna, Texas. Tommy’s grand children and their spouses are Wyatt and Amy Beavers of Richmond, Texas, Matthew Beavers of Sugarland, Texas, Ashley and Caleb Robbins of Lawrence, Kansas, Cortney and Nick Little of Allen, Texas, Braxton Wyatt of Plano, Texas, Madison Wyatt, Haley Wyatt, and Maci Wyatt of Anna, Texas and one great granddaughter, Lucy Wyatt-Little of Allen, Texas. Tommy is survived by his sister Betty Holloway and sister-in-law Betty Bolin Wyatt both of Farmersville, Texas, and by a number of nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.
In 1998 Tommy married Betty Freeman Wyatt. In their retirement years, they enjoyed hobbies and crafts. They also spent many days camping and sight-seeing in their RV. Tommy is survived by Betty’s children, Sherrie Hill, Debra Teeples, Glenda Beauchamp, Danny Wyatt, their spouses and Betty’s 16 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m at Hurst's Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas.
Graveside services will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Princeton, Texas with Robert Rochelle officiating.
