MRS. MARY J. PADDOCKMrs. Mary J. Paddock, aged 77, years, died form injuries she received in a fall at the Bronson flat last Thursday. Mrs. Paddock had made all preparations to move her household goods from rooms in the Bronson flat to the cottage on Brewer street vacated by Mr. Geo. I. Tousley, and had taken a few articles to the house during the forenoon. At about eleven o'clock she came back to the Bronson Flat to give instructions to the draymen about moving her goods. She fell down a set of stairs landing into the basement of the flat, and in the fall she received injuries which rendered her unconscious. Death followed in less than an hour.Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. W. A. Montgomery. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.Mrs. Paddock was born in Lenawee county, Michigan, January 25th, 1841, and came to Manchester in the fall of 1866 or 1867. In Manchester she was united in marriage with Daniel Paddock, who died many years ago.Deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Clarissa Houghton, of Waverly, and one brother, Alvano Millette, of Casper, Wyoming. The sister came to Manchester in answer to the summons of her sister's tragic death.Mrs. Paddock was a devout member of the Presbyterian church, and was a faithful attendant upon all of the services of the church, and contributed of her means and strength to the work and support of the organization.
