Joe was born on June 2, 1942, to Joseph and Wahneta Kenney, who preceded him in death.
Joe had a long career in law enforcement, beginning as an officer with the Alexandria Police Department, then with the Marion Police Department, and finally as Chief Investigator with the Smyth County Sheriff’s Department until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, a daughter, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and son of Roanoke, Virginia. Three grandsons. Also a favorite daughter in law of Roanoke.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Thomas Cemetery in Marion, Virginia with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Home is serving the Kenney family.
