MISER FOUND DEAD.
AMSTERDAM, N.Y., July 25. - William E. McLachlan, a recluse living on a small farm in Cranes Hollow, a few miles from this city, was found dead on the floor of his home by a neighbor, with eight stab wounds in his body, three of which had reached vital parts. McLachlan, who was estimated to be worth $75,000 lived alone in a miserly way and made something of an income from repairing clocks and guns.
