He worked for the Bartow County School System for 20 years, as a bailiff at the Bartow County Courthouse and served as a Pastor at Mount Pleasant Baptist, Olive Vine Baptist, and Carmel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane Willis Scoggins; siblings James (Pete) Scoggins and Max Scoggins. He is survived by his children: Michael Scoggins (Kim), Mitchell Scoggins (Donna), Mark Scoggins, Myron Scoggins (Melba), Melissa Scoggins Smith (Kerry); grandchildren: Kurt Scoggins (Lindsay), Tara Scoggins, Blake Scoggins (Ashley), Morgan King (Mack), Tyler Scoggins (Nicole), Mallory Whorton (Ethan), Alexis Hunt (Trey), Alaina Smith, Dylan Smith; great grandchildren: Will Bullock, Sophie and Sela Scoggins, Porter and Wade King, Brooklyn Grace and Sadie Rae Hunt, Norah Jane Whorton, Nash Scoggins; siblings: Glenda Upshaw, Hazel Woodall, and Evelyn Blalock.
