Virginia Pierce, 82 of Creston, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Crest Haven Care Centre.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery Street in Creston, IA. Pastor Rick Titus, Officiating. Visitation is open to the public from 1-7 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Creston, IA.

Virginia Fay Pierce, was born April 5, 1937 in Creston to Luther Arthur William and Rhoda Elizabeth (Beedle) Keller. She attended Creston Public Schools and although she did not graduate, Virginia did earn her GED. She married Richard H. Pierce in Creston and the couple never had any children of their own. Virginia thought of her nieces and nephews as her own children.

Virginia worked hard during her life as a homemaker and housewife. She enjoyed providing for her husband. She worked a few years as a waitress while living in Des Moines, IA. The couple also lived a short time in Illinois, but Virginia lived most of her life in Creston. Virginia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1398 Auxiliary in Creston.

Preceding Virginia in death was her husband, Richard; her parents; three sisters: Beulah Jones, Frances Clayton and infant sister, Doris Ann; a brother, Donald Keller; two brothers-in-law: Robert Jones and Darrell Clayton; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Keller; three nephews and one niece.

Virginia is survived by three siblings: Lawrence, Clarence (Sharon) and Rosalie; she is also survived by a special niece, Anna, and special nephew, Larry; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
