She was born June 29, 1929 in Lewes, daughter of the late George W. King and Effie (Hazzard) King.
Ruth was a laundry worker and shirt ironer for Lewes Quick Wash and Quick Way Laundries.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Dawson Henry in 1995.
Surviving is a daughter, Dianne Dirks and her husband Peter; a son, George J. King and his wife Gloria; three grandchildren, Paula Hennessy, Pamela Dirks and Peter Dirks, Jr.; four step grandchildren, Jamie Clifton, Timothy Lehne, Paula Veasey and Steven Craft and all of their families.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 2013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro where friends may call after 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Conley’s Chapel Cemetery, Angola.
