Memorial services for Dr. Bobbie J. Roberts (B.J.), 94 of Findlay will be held at St. Andrews United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. and will be conducted by the Reverends Jeff Motter and David Roberts. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME 500 Lima Ave, Findlay, Ohio. He died Thursday morning, May 16, 2019 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center B.J. was born in Richmond, Ohio on February 16, 1925 to Espy and Opal (Mackey) Roberts. He married Mildred (Bascom) Roberts on January 1, 1948, and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2016. Surviving are two sons, William (Candy) Roberts of Traverse City, Michigan and Thomas (Theresa) Roberts of Bowling Green, Ohio. A son John is deceased. Also surviving is a half brother, David (Jenny) Roberts of Andover, Ohio. There are three granddaughters, Kelly Roberts, Sara Mayle, and Katey (Brandan) Lloyd , and five great grandchildren. Two grandsons, James and Michael, were lost to Cystic Fibrosis. B.J. was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alnora L. O'Hara McFadden and Helen Rechedy. B.J. was a retired podiatrist who practiced in Findlay for 40 years. He graduated from Andover High School and served in the Navy during WWII, then attended Ohio State University for pre-med and graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1953. As a podiatrist, he was active as a member of the local academy, state association, and the national association serving at all levels of offices in the Northwest Academy, notably as Secretary-Treasurer for seven years. At the state level, he served as a delegate to the House of Delegates several times, and on the State Board of Trustees for 10 years, the last two as Chairman. He also chaired the Ethics and Peer Review committees for several terms. Locally, he served on the local committee for the Ronald McDonald House, the Board of the Northwest Ohio Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, was a former member and past president of the Findlay Country Club, American Legion Post #3, and St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
