Howard Elvin Walker, born August 11, 1940, left his earthly home for his eternal home May 4, 2019 at his home in Shawnee, KS, with his wife, Jenny, at his side as well as others who loved him.
Howard is survived by his three children; Teresa (Grant) Henry, Scott (Ronda) Walker, Jennifer (Jeffery) Bullock, as well as his step-children; Deborah (Tony) Evans, Jeffery (Kyie), Jayne (Michael), Phillippa (Michael) and Charles; along with 30 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn; his siblings; Gilvin, Cecil, and Ruth, and many others.
Howard accepted Jesus as his personal Savior in his young adult life. There was nothing he enjoyed more than to be in Church, which was very hard for him to do in recent years; and to be with his family and stepfamily who he embraced as his own when he and Jenny married 20 years ago.
He was a member of Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple for 15 years where he enjoyed choir, Men’s Recharge, and the many friends he made there.
Howard will be greatly missed. Our comfort is knowing he is in his new and healed body, and has indeed met his Lord and Savior; and looked upon His face, the one who save him by His Grace.
His celebration service will be June 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m at Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple, 21533 Midland Dr, Shawnee,Kansas 66218. Inurnment will be at Leavenworth National Cemetary, 150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048 May 31st, 11 a.m.
