Lynda L. Moore, 69, of Utica, passed away December 22, 2017, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center. She was born August 7, 1948, in Warsaw, IN, to the late Robert and Ruth (Sanderson) Dougherty.
Lynda was a graduate of Warsaw Community High School. After retiring from Bank One, Lynda worked at Mound Builders Guidance Center before retiring and quilting for her business Lynda’s Stitches.
Lynda was a member of the Heart of Ohio Quilters Guild, joining in 2009. She held a number of offices including Vice President and was particularly passionate about the guild’s charity quilts programs. She served as the Chairperson for the Community Cares committee for several years. She was always a willing worker. She loved to collect fabric and was a frequent shopper at Bunny’s and Country Craft Cupboard. She used much of her “stash” to make quilts that were donated to Hospice patients.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen R. Moore; daughters, Michele Zernial of TX, Heather (Bryon) Buck of GA, and Jen (Scott) Simmons of Centerburg; sister, Marsha (Dennis) Decker of MI; grandchildren, Jackie, John, Dylan, Mary Katelyn, and Hayden, and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Landon, Brodey, Emmett, Macy, and Remy.
