Michael A. Bruner
Michael Anthony (Tony) Bruner, 36, Mauckport, died Friday, May 17, 2019.

Born Nov. 15, 1982, he was the son of Michael Edward Bruner and Donna Brown Bruner.

He was a 2001 graduate of North Harrison High School and Prosser School of Technology, earned an associate degree in HVAC from Ivy Tech Community College and then enlisted in the Army in November of 2010 and served four years and 11 months, attaining the rank of sergeant, serving two tours in Afghanistan and receiving an honorable discharge. He received the following awards and medals during his service: Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (twice), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. He was an employee of Whayne Supply Co. in Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juanita Brewer Bruner, Charles Brown and Mary Alice Dillman Brown; step-grandmother, Joyce Shelton Bruner; and an uncle, David Brown.

Survivors include his parents, Michael Edward Bruner and Donna Brown Bruner; a sister, Beth Bruner (Allison); grandfather, Donald Bruner; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 22, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.

Military interment service: Thursday, May 23, at 2:30 p.m. at New Albany National Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial gifts to The Battle Buddy Foundation, Fisher House or Wounded Warrior Project.
