Jon is the adopted son of G. A. Miller and Gertrude (Chrisman) Miller. Jon grew up in Newton, IA. He attended Elementary and High School in Newton; he graduated from Newton High School in 1966. Jon had several jobs in Newton: he delivered the newspaper, he worked for a bakery as a janitor and he would restock supplies for the bakers, and he worked in a grocery store stocking shelves and working the drive thru. Jon had also worked for Maytag and for Drug Town as a receiving clerk.
Jon graduated from Grandview College in 1968 with a B.A. in Business Administration and a minor in History. He attended Wartburg College for 1 year but did not graduate.
Jon was a member of SCCA/DMVR for over 35 years. He was employed by several car dealerships in Des Moines and was as private investigator with Anderson & Miller Investigation for 7 years. Jon did some comedy skits on Radio for a short time. After his stroke, T.B.I. he retired from Hammer Medical supply as a Medical Equipment Technician; he had worked for Hammer Medical Supply for 15 years.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother Lee Wayne Miller. He is survived by his longtime companion and caregiver Virginia Parker.
