Marvin K. Roberts, Sr., age 74, of Ballard, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV. Born August 7, 1944, in McDowell County, WV, he was the son of the late Rev. Clyde and Virginia Williams Roberts of Iaeger, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Roberts; and one sister, Evelyn Woosley.
Marvin attended the Kellysville Church of God and was a self-employed truck driver. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be greatly missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Bailey Roberts; two sons, Marvin Kyle Roberts, Jr. and wife Lora, and Tim Roberts and wife Linda, all of Ballard, WV; one daughter, Annette Hill and husband Chris of Ballard, WV; four grandchildren, Justin Roberts and wife Hannah, Amanda Shrader and husband Chris, Aleigha Hill, and Andrew Hill; five great grandchildren, Jakob, Emily, and Joel Roberts, Anna Shrader, and Emma Shrader; five siblings, Donna Jackson and husband Dennis, Brenzil Roberts and wife Cathy, Anita Mullens, Joyce Salyers, and Diana Husted and husband Robert; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Franklin Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Roberts Family Cemetery in Ballard, WV. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
