SKELTON, Elouise R. of Portage
Went home to be with her Lord June 10, 2007 at Select Specialty Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Elouise was born February 15, 1913 in Grand Rapids, a daughter of the late Reuben and Letisa "Lettie" (Kuiper) Culp.
She was united in marriage to Russell V. Skelton on January 7, 1932 in Elkhart, IN. Russell preceded her in death in August of 1993.
Elouise loved her Lord and her family above all else. She came to know her Lord in 1982 at the age of 70. She loved to dance and play cards. She also loved to travel with her husband, especially up north to Bitely, MI. She also wintered in Arizona for many years.
Surviving Elouise are children; Diane Buell of Portage, Patricia (Robert) Strong of Grand Junction, Carol (Ken) Lacey of Portage, Marcia (Ted) Jackson of Vicksburg ; 15 grandchildren ; 45 great grandchildren ; 44 great-great grandchildren ; sister ; Joyce (Walter) Mikita ; special niece, Janice Conkle; sister-in-law ; Joyce P. Culp.
Preceding Elouise in death are brother's ; Leon Culp and Roy Culp ; sister's Marian Rice and Ruth Koning.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday, June 14 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, Portage, MI. Funeral service will take place Thursday, June 14, 2007, 11:00 AM at the Portage Chapel. Interment following at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed in Elouise's name to Pregnancy Crisis Center c/o Alternatives of Kalamazoo, in honor of her 44 healthy great-great grandchildren, 4200 W. Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49006.
