Richard J. Ruth
January 24, 1942 - May 17, 2019

Ruth, Richard J., passed away peacefully at Evelyn’s House Hospice in St. Louis, Missouri on May 17th, 2019 due to a stroke and complications from heart and kidney disease at the age of 77.
He leaves behind his wife and constant companion of 56 years, Louise (nee Finkbeiner); children and their families, 9 wonderful grandchildren, 2 step children, 3 great grandchildren, his sister.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Margaret Ruth; his infant twins, Richard and Terry; his sister Virginia Yarnall, his brother, Donald Ruth, and his brother, Jimmy Pearson.

Richard was a dedicated family man, devoted husband, loving father, and enthusiastic grandfather and great grandfather who supported each one in all facets of their lives. Rarely was a sports or other activity missed by Paw Paw, unless an important golf match couldn’t be rescheduled!

After 3 years in the United States Navy and then graduating from Kutztown State College, Richard pursued his career in Human Resources and achieved executive status at Bethlehem Steel Corp., Bussman Manufacturing, Sunnen Products Company, and Nordyne, and served as Chairman of the Board at AAIM. He always looked out for the employee’s and their family’s best interest and treated all levels, from entry level to CEO with the same amount of respect. He came from a challenging childhood and built a life for his family through his hard work and dedication to making their lives better than his!

While his earlier retirement years consisted of golf and attending family activities, the latest years were slowed by health issues. He never stopped trying though and we all respect the strength and determination that he displayed to the end. He will be dearly missed by us all.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., (St. Charles).
