Gordon Russell Bray, of Evart, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was 80.

Gordon was born on March 6, 1939 in Pontiac, Michigan to William and Averill (Fenchel) Bray. He spent his career working for General Motors as a Tool and Die supervisor for over 30 years. Gordon volunteered much of his time as a firefighter when he was younger. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting with both his gun and bow. Gordon liked to watch most all Michigan sportsteams and was a fan of the Red Wings, Tigers and Wolverines. Many will remember him as an excellent neighbor.

Gordon is survived by children, Shari Blashill of Jeddo, Michigan, Richard Bray of Westland, Michigan and Robert Bray of Traverse City; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie (Bruce) Brede; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Frederick "Bill" Bray and two sisters, Roberta Hunter and Trudy Hester.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Doherty Hotel, 604 N. McEwan, Clare, MI 48617.
