Carol Joy *Chick* Cates was born July 14, 1928 in Beaver County, Oklahoma to Claude William and Mintie Audean (Barker) Haskell. She graduated from Beaver High School with the class of 1946. She was a homemaker in Beaver County all her life. She married B. Dale Cates in Beaver, Oklahoma on August 26, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Joe Bob Cates.
Chick passed on Wednesday, May 14, 2019 at the Beaver County Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.
She is survived by her son, Read Haskell Cates of Beaver, Oklahoma; her two daughters, Dayla Sue Pugh of Balko, Oklahoma and Reta Beth Mosburg of Beaver, Oklahoma; her brother, Clinton Haskell, Beaver, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends
