HUMPHREYS, Robert Swanson April 25, 1947 - May 15, 2019 Robert Swanson Humphreys, 72, of Buena Vista, Va., passed away, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born April 25, 1947, in Nelson County, Va., he was the son of the late Frank Swanson and Deanie Lou Humphreys. Robert was also preceded in death by sisters, Eunice Kunick and Elizabeth (Pete) Humphreys; and brothers, Norman "Buck" Edward Humphreys, Frank Wilson Humphreys, Marion Jefferson Humphreys, and Jessie James Humphreys. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Benonia V. Humphreys; children, Robert Swanson Humphreys, Jr. (Connie), Benonia "Cathy" Humphreys, Sharon Humphreys, Karen Humphreys Bane (Darryl), Jason Lewis Humphreys (Gina), and Matthew Joshua Humphreys (Amber); 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Georgie Byers and Shirlyn Satterwhite; and brother, Lowell Edward Humphreys; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home.
