Omer Ruiz February 8, 1933 – August 28, 2016 Omer Ruiz, of Rancho Santa Fe, CA passed away Sunday August 28th, 2016. Funeral Mass will be held Friday September 9th 1:30 PM at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, CA. Arrangements are by El Camino Memorial Encinitas, Ca. Omer was born February 8th, 1933 in Nampa, Idaho to the parents Clotilde and Fred Ruiz. He married Jeanne Ruiz in La Jolla, Ca. Omer attended La Jolla High School and Loyola University. He had a long successful career in Contracts Administration ultimately retiring as Vice President of Contracts at GenCorp. A devote Catholic Omer had unyielding faith and was passionate in his belief in the sanctity of life & marriage. He loved his family, cherished holidays and vigorous lively political debates. Omer had a special place in his heart for the University of Notre Dame and what it stood for as an institution. It was an honor and privilege to call him Dad. Omer is preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Ruiz, parents Clotilde and Fred Ruiz, sisters Irene Monroe and Christine Aliano. He is survived by 7 children, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
