Joyce Ann Griffin passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. She was born December 21, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to Oscar and Anna "Pat" (Rusnak) Korek. Joyce lived a full and exciting life. She married Linden Griffin in 1974 and lived in Kalamazoo. They traveled to many different countries together with her favorite being China. For many years they sailed up and down the Lake Michigan shoreline. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing holiday meals for her family. Joyce had many interests. She was a member of the Kalamazoo Garden Club, a Book Club and participated in Bible Studies at her church. Joyce made many friends going to exercise classes at the Portage YWCA and often went out for coffee with the girls in her classes. She spent her winters in Naples, Florida where she spent time walking and bird watching. She would return to Kalamazoo in time for Mother's Day with her children and grandchildren. She often attended theatre productions and liked listening to classical music. One of Joyce's favorite family outings would include dinner at Red Lobster and ice cream. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linden L. Griffin, Jr., daughter Susan Mazer and grandson Travis Mazer. Surviving are her children Eva (Jeffrey) Spencer and Kevin (Wendy) Mazer.
