Son of Joshua Palmer. Married Rebecca Farley 18 Mar 1838. Rebecca was the daughter of Abiah Farley. Stephen & Rebecca came to Jackson Co MI in 1845. Children: Alonzo d b 1839 (served Co B 7th Mich Inf died at Antietam), Helen L b ca 1840 (m George Luce, Huldah b ca 1842, Martin J b 1845, Joshua G b ca 1847, Maria b ca 1842 (m Edgar N Randall), Mary b ca 1854 (m Austin Miller).
