On October 15, 1932, he was united in marriage to Ellen
Leach.
On December 15, 1943, he was called into the service of
his country, serving in Europe. He was awarded the Oak
Leaf Cluster Combat Badge, Bronze Battle Stars and the
Purple Heart.
He was returned to the States on March 3, 1944, after
being wounded in action. He was discharged November
24, 1945. After recovering from his injuries he was
employed by Mont Eagle Mills where he worked until
his retirement. At an early age, he accepted the Lord as
his Savior, and has remained a faithful member of the
Evangelical United Methodist Church.
