Joyce Poole, 84, of Milan passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at The Waters of Dillsboro surrounded by her family and the loving care of the staff. Joyce was born Tuesday, November 20, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Francis and Florence (Naegel) Langenstroer. She married Thomas J. Poole May 28, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1996. Joyce was a homemaker and of the catholic faith. She was a realtor, owned her own clothing business “The Warehouse”, worked at Shillito’s, was an EMT for Rescue 69, a den mother for Boy Scouts and brownie leader. She enjoyed gardening, canning, taking care of the animals on the farm, baking, cooking, sewing, dancing and loved her dog “Missy”. She also liked genealogy and was a caregiver for many.

Joyce is survived by son Thomas (Karen) Poole of Dillsboro; daughters Bonnie (John) Wainwright of Columbia City and Jeanette Lindeman of Moores Hill; brother Michael (Vivian) Weber of Hialeah, FL; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, companion Ray Volk, Ray and Evelyn Naegel.

A service celebrating her life will be held 11AM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Father Stephen Donahue officiating. Burial will follow in Akers Friendship Cemetery.
