Ernest John Walker Jr. (Grizzly), 75, passed away Tuesday May 14th 2019 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

He leaves behind his daughters Tonya Rahija and Crystal Vervaecke; son David Walker; and wife Jamie. He also leaves behind six granddaughters, two grandsons, five great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons, with three more on the way. He also leaves behind sisters Barbara Workman, Beverly Folsom, Lorraine Knipp, Loretta Caldwell; brother Gery Walker; and sister-in-law Shirley Walker.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Walker; father Ernest Walker Sr.; mother Minnie Walker; brothers Fred and Larry Walker; and sister Tiny Roberts.

Grizz grew up in Kansas City Ks. and served four years in the United States Marine Corps. After his service he worked as a master carpenter throughout the Southwestern United States until coming back to the Kansas City area in the 90’s where he continued to work in construction until retirement.

A celebration of life will be held at the Historical Society Fairchild/Knox barn located at 201 W. Washington Street, Tonganoxie Ks. 66086 on Friday May 17th, 2019 from 6-8pm.
