RONALD ELWIN ROBISON

Robison, Ronald Elwin, 73, died September 3, 2012 at his home in Corona del Mar, California. Ron fought a long courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

He was born January 13, 1939 in Provo, Utah, to Elwin Ashton and Opal Thurston Robison. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Norman Jay Hall.

Ron attended East Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield, Calif. where he was senior class president. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in mathematics from Brigham Young University and his Masters of Business Administration from UCLA.

His business career included executive positions at Shareholders Capital Corporation, Ernst and Whinney, Trust Company of the West and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. He concluded his career in New York as President and Principal Executive Officer of the Morgan Stanley Mutual Funds and of the Van Kampen Mutual Funds.

Ron was an energetic, industrious person. His favorite sports included tennis, golf and skiing. He was an avid reader and looked forward to the Wall Street Journal every morning. He enjoyed working out at the gym and eating tacos for lunch. He was warm and friendly with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He had a sincere interest in other people and loved to spend time with friends and family - especially his grandchildren.

Ron was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Western States Mission and in many leadership positions in the Church including as a Bishop. He particularly enjoyed working with the youth.

Ron is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan; his son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Carolyn; his son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Jonna; his son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Rachel; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Matt Marquis; 14 grandchildren; and his brothers, Darwin Hall, Kevin Robison and Chris Robison.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 2150 Bonita Canyon Drive - Newport Beach, California 92660.
