Mary L. Arnett, 74, of LaMonte passed away on Monday, May 13th at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

She was born May 19, 1944 in Sedalia, Missouri to Charles and Rose A. (Weller) Bahner. She was the sibling to four sisters, Laura Jones (deceased), Lillian (Rudy) Rehmer of Smithton, Ida Mae (John, deceased) Woolery of Sedalia, Eileen Kitzmiller of Dunedin ,FL; and three brothers, Charles (Pat) Bahner of Smithton, Robert Bahner (deceased) and David (Beth) Bahner of Lee’s Summit.

From an early age, life on the family farm would teach her what it would take to be a successful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. After graduating as valedictorian from Sacred Heart School in 1962, she worked briefly as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Love interrupted her career when she met her husband of 55 years, Carl W. Arnett, who survives of the home. They would go on to be blessed with seven children, Gene (Sue Ann) Arnett of LaMonte, Doug Arnett of Freistatt, Lisa (Jeff) Kuecker of Concordia, Greg (Kendra) Arnett of Solomon, KS, Krista Arnett of Prairie Home, Tim (Lisa) Arnett of Sedalia, Rebecca (Bryan) Partington of Everett, WA; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was proud to be a farm wife. She loved her garden and birds. She especially loved traveling the country to collect antiques with her husband. She was also a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia. Most of all, Mary was a tremendously selfless giver to all of her family. There was nothing that brought her more joy than all of the little ones who came through her door. She rarely turned down an opportunity to be a caregiver to them.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Tom Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in La Monte Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Partington, Jason Arnett, Jacob Arnett, Joseph Arnett, Aaron Karlin and Eric Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Holly Richardson, Elizabeth Johnson, Victoria Karlin, Sarah Arnett, Isabelle Arnett, Isaac Arnett, Blythe Cameron, Cassoday Richardson, Tilde Partington, Matthew Richardson

William Richardson, Everleigh Arnett and Corbin Karlin. Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 5 p.m. Friday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with visitation to follow from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary's honor to The Arc of Snohomish County, 2500 Hewitt Ave. Suite 300, Everett, WA 98201.
