Jerry Wayne Parks, age 78, passed away on his beloved farm in Parrottsville, May 15, 2019.

Jerry was born March 28, 1941 and graduated from Parrottsville High School in 1959. He married the love of his life, Barbara Miller, March 17, 1972.

Jerry is preceded in death by their daughter, Cynthia Matahsha Parks, his father and mother, David Jesse McAfee and Ruth Kropff Park, sister, Anna Carolyn Jarnigan, and brother Bobby "Earl" Parks. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Miller) Parks. They share three daughters and sons-in-law, Nikki and Randall Clabo, of Seymour, Shandi and Bradley Whittenburg, of Greeneville, and Heather and Ralph Sauceman, of Parrottsville. Jerry's biggest pride and joy were his seven grandchildren, Destanee Redden, Nadalynn Sauceman, Draven Fine, Jesse Sauceman, Ryleigh Whittenburg, Jud Wayne Sauceman, and Rhett Sauceman. Destanee and husband, Tanner Redden are expecting Jerry's first great-grandchild in June. Jerry is also survived by a brother, Billy (Alice) Park, of Parrottsville, and a sister, Virginia (Jim) Long, of Morristown, and several nieces and nephews. Jerry was loved and will be greatly missed by many special friends. Some of his closest were Arnold and Jenny Worley, Paula Bearden, Charlie Cobble, Fred and Carolyn Gammons, Edna and the late Burl Ottinger.

Jerry has been an active member in the farming/dairy community of Cocke Co. In 1994, he began poultry farming and continued it throughout the remainder of his life. Jerry served as a member of the Co-Op board and Farm Credit Board in the past, and has been a member of the Cocke County Soil Conservation District since 2013, where he has served as Chairman since 2015.

Pallbearers will be: Arnold Worley, Charlie Cobble, Fred Gammons, Ralph Sauceman, Bradley Whittenburg, and Randall Clabo.

Entombment will be held 11:00 am Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
