Marilyn Jean De Baker was born on November 22, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to Lynn David and Mary Ellen Harris. She has lived in Katy since 2005 where she was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She volunteered her time with Project Linus making blankets for hospitalized children. Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and sewing, and as well as reading and playing with her dogs.

Marilyn De Baker passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, in Houston, at the age of 85.

She is survived by her sons, Michael De Baker of Katy and Philip De Baker and his wife Candelaria of Katy; brother, John Harris and his wife Cheryl of Venice, Florida; her dogs, Angel and Lady; as well as many other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard De Baker, on September 16, 2009.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Schmidt Funeral Home East Avenue Chapel, in Katy, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, in Katy, with Rev. Christopher Plant, Celebrant. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery.
