He worked as an Electrical Engineer and Project Manager for Anheuser Busch and he was the owner/operator of Saft2004, LLC Construction; a construction safety consulting company working with OSHA. He worked at McDonnell Douglas on the Gemini Project in the 1960's. Roger loved Cardinals baseball, warm chocolate chip cookies, camping, and had a life-long love affair with trains and model railroading. He was a champion whistler and loved posting the Monday family report. He loved an ice cold Budweiser after mowing the lawn. If he was working in the yard he would stop when the church bells tolled at noon to say a "Hail Mary". He loved Sousa marches and Strauss waltzes. He enjoyed Civil War battlegrounds, research, long history books, family genealogy, long explanations, chess, and playing Minesweeper. He would drive miles out of his way to get a Ted Drewes chocolate malt.
