Martin "Marty" Sullivan passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family after a yearlong battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Mary Ellen, his son Tim, and his daughter-in-law Marisa. Marty was born on June 21, 1957 in Drexel Hill, PA. He is a 1979 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and he spent a distinguished, 26-year career as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a Marine aviator, Marty commanded forces during NATO operations in the Balkans, before ultimately serving tours at the Pentagon and the U.S. National Security Council staff. Marty later worked as a defense consultant and taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business, where he received his MBA.
