Sue met the love of her life Lonnie James in 1962 in Yakima, Washington whom she married in 1966, and they celebrated their 53rd anniversary in December.
Sue enjoyed reading, especially books by her favorite author Debbie Macomber. She was a phenomenal cook and was especially gifted when it came to baking and was told many times she should open her own bakery. Some of her other favorite pastimes were knitting, playing bingo, and going on ride-alongs with her son Shawn and the other officers at the Union Gap Police Department. But her favorite pastime of all was shopping and boy was she good at it!
Sue loved spending time with her family and hosted family dinners regularly to ensure that she got to spend as much time as possible with them. She especially loved being grandma, mamma and mammam to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with them.
Sue is survived by her husband Lonnie, her three children, daughter Ginger (son in law John) of Yakima, WA, son Shawn (daughter in law Christine) of Yakima, WA and son Dennis of Salem, OR, her six grandchildren all of Yakima, WA, Lynda whom she called “Angel” and often forgot was her grandchild and not her daughter, Michael, Justin, Holly, Ashlee and Emily; her great-grandchildren, Logynn, Bristole, whom she proudly called her mini me in both looks and attitude, Lennox, Brooklynn, Kaiden, Karson, Sophia, Bodhi and Paizlee; sisters Lynda Bauer and Mary Simmons; her best friend of 43 years Audie Stevens and numerous nieces and nephews.
