Mildred Richardson McGinnis of Campbellsville entered into rest on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an extended illness. Born in the Low Gap community of Adair County on July 18, 1936 to the late James Gordon and Mattie Lee (Pierce) Coomer, she was 82 years, 9 months, and 25 days of age.

As a young lady, she met Cecil “Red” Richardson, and they united in marriage in 1953. They would remain a devoted couple until his death in 2003. She would later marry Chuck McGinnis, who survives.

Sis. McGinnis retired from the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville, having worked there over thirty years. Her life’s work, however, lay in trying to make heaven her home - and from that calling, she never wavered. She was passionate about her walk with God, and faithfully attended the Truth Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. Her soft, gentle, and continual encouragement to others will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Her husband: Bro. Chuck McGinnis of Campbellsville,

Three children: James “Redbird” Richardson and wife Gayle of Campbellsville, Karen Fawbush and husband Gary of New Albany, Indiana, and Timothy Richardson of Campbellsville,

Three stepchildren: Wendell McGinnis and wife Lorie of Campbellsville, Rita Coleman and husband David of Washington, and Alphus McGinnis and wife Candis of Louisville,

Five siblings: Corine Dobson and husband Howard of Campbellsville, Regina Hoots of Monticello, Velma Atwood and husband Gene of Campbellsville, and Robert Coomer and wife Betty of Campbellsville,

Seven grandchildren: Lori Riggins and husband David, Jason Richardson and wife Shannon, James Adam Fawbush and wife Bylijo, Amanda Gayle Earls and husband Chris, Andrea Alice Fawbush, Ashlee Jean Fawbush, and Dustin Allen,

Eight step-grandchildren,

Two great-grandchildren,

And a host of other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Cecile Allen.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Sis. McGinnis on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home. Bro. Raymond Clark will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
