Mr. James Abner Knowles, 78 of 309 W. Elizabeth St. passed away Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at his home.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, May 17th at 2:00 PM at Red Hill Universalist Church with Rev. Chuck Yancey officiating.

Burial was made in the Church cemetery.

Born on June 16th, 1940 in Sampson County, Jim was the son of the late James Aubrey and Amber Robinson Knowles. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his two sisters: Judy K. Feldbusch and Joyce K. Lawson.

Jim served in the United States National Guard and was a member of Red Hill Universalist Church.

Jim is survived by his two daughters: Kimberly Knowles Judd and husband, Kenneth of Manassas, Va. and Donna Knowles of Woodbridge, VA and their mother, Rhea Nell Knowles; Three grandchildren: Michael, Kennley and Katelyn Judd.

Visitation for family and friends was held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 PM on Friday at the Church.
