Janice was born on February 24, 1940, daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Burdick) Madden in Cobleskill, NY.
She was married to Harry S. French, Jr., "Frenchie" on March 25, 1959 in Nevada. He predeceased her on December 11, 2014 after 55 years of marriage.
Janice enjoyed watching birds and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, whose world revolved around her family.
Janice is survived by her children: Donna (Terry) Claudio, St. Johns, FL; Skip (Hayley) French, Mt. Upton; Tim French, Mt. Upton; and Tonja Hayes (TJ Turner), Mt. Upton; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Madden, Sr.; sister, Phyllis Hellijas, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Janice was predeceased by her siblings: Frederick Madden, Alice Jean "Jeannie" Fortin, John Madden and Ervin "Terry" Madden; and by her mother-in-law, Ethel French, whom she was very close with.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
