Larry D. Hoover, 81, of Napoleon, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019. He was born in McClure to the late Donald and Gayle Irene (Johnson) Hoover on February 7, 1938. He married Mary L. (Bailey) Hoover December 30, 1967 in Pittsburg, PA.
Larry was a 1956 graduate of Napoleon High School. He served his country in the National Guard from 1956-1964. He worked at the Egg Auction, Brush Beryllium and the 7up Bottling Company of Napoleon. In 2000 after 39 years, he retired from Tenneco. He then worked for the Henry County Bank and retired after 8 years in 2008. Larry was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and was active in Napoleon Little League, often assisting and keeping stats for the team.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Christopher (Jeannine) and Patrick (Beth Hahn), both of Napoleon and David of Auburn, IN; faithful canine companion, Penny; grandchildren, Klair; Emma; Drake of Napoleon and Laken, Erin, Gillian of Auburn, IN; great grandchildren, Wren and Miles David also of Auburn, IN; sister-in-law, Barbara Pflugh and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Troy Wayne, sister Connie Rice and brother-in-law, Charles Pflugh.

Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
