Don Rush Long Sr., 79, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Nocona, TX.
Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Carter Lake Road Church of Christ in Bowie, TX with Pastor Jon Page officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie, TX.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX.

Don was born June 2, 1939 in Lubbock, TX, he was the youngest of three children born to George and Louise (Rush) Long. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock and attended Lubbock Christian University. Don married Margaret Stewart on May 11, 1962 in Slaton, TX. The couple moved to Montague, TX in 2004.
Don worked for Peterbilt for over 20 years, until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Carter Lake Road Church of Christ. Don will be remembered with love and appreciation for being a devoted, husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Betty Long Waldrip and Mary Sue Long Dunn.
Don is survived by his wife of exactly 57 years, Margaret Long of Montague; children Jamie Lynne Durden and husband James of Lubbock and Don “Buck” Long Jr. and wife Christine of North Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren Amanda Milton and husband Kris of Jesup, GA, Cory Long of San Diego, CA, and Dylan, Jennifer, and Rebecca Long all of North Richland Hills; great-grandchildren Braylen and Addison Valentine and Gabriel Reichenbach; and numerous nieces and nephews.
