HALE Gene Autry March 24, 1941 May 11, 2019 Gene Autry Hale, 78, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, May 11, 2019, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on March 24, 1941 to the late Andy and Mamie Sue Caldwell Hale. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Whittaker Hale; and a daughter, Rhonda Jean Hale. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Terri Hale, Robin and Greg McCoy; son, Ricky Hale; granddaughter, Danielle Hurt and husband Russell; great-grandchildren, Houston Ryder and Cooper McCoy Hurt; special friend, Betty Whitlock. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. David Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
