Mr. Larry Wayne Townsend was born on January 5, 1941 in Minor Hill, TN. He served his country in the US Army. After his service he worked with Civilian Services at USAF base in Albuquerque, NM until his retirement in 1996, when he then moved to Athens, AL where he enjoyed farming until his death on May 11, 2019 at the age of 78.
Graveside services for Mr. Townsend will be Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Stella Cemetery at 3:00 p.m with Bro. Donald Terry officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his father, Hadren Townsend and mother, Auvalene Pickett Townsend.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Renee Townsend; sisters, Joyce Eubanks (the late Billy Don) of Stella, TN and Joan McMurtery (Tom) of Athens, AL; daughters, Jackie Hargrove (Edward) of Columbian, TN and Molly McCrary (Caleb) of Anderson, AL; son, Chad Townsend of Athens, AL; grandchildren, Chris, Dustin, Jessica, Cason, Ford, Sawyer and Brody; great grandchildren, Ella, Wells, Bentley and Baker; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
