William S. "Bill" Abrams, age 90, of Alliance passed away peacefully at 12:05 a.m. Saturday May 11, 2019 at Alliance Hospital.

He was born July 15, 1928 in Leetonia, Ohio to Walter S. and Ethel (Paisley) Abrams.

A graduate of Alliance High School, Bill attended Mount Union College. He was a W.W.II U.S. Army veteran.

Bill had been an Independent Owner/Operator Truck Driver for many years before retiring from Yellow Freight after 20 years of service.

He formerly attended Union Avenue United Methodist Church, was a Past Vice President of Alliance Jaycees, and Past President of United Commercial Travelers.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne (Barnes) Abrams, who he married September 18, 1952; daughter, Nancy Castellucci (John Christian); son, Scott Abrams; and four grandchildren; Matt (Tammy) Castellucci, Russ Castellucci, Tiffany Abrams, and Brandon Abrams.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and son, William S. "Bill" Abrams Jr.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jody Hill officiating.

Friends may call from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Thursday.

Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Mercy Home Care, 4369 Whipple Ave., Canton, Ohio 44718 for their kindness and compassion.
