Evelyn King Ward, age 95, of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019.
She was one of the original weavers for the Arrowcraft Shop in Gatlinburg. She and her husband O.G. Ward later owned and operated O.G. Ward & Sons Custom Furniture and she was a lifelong member of Huskey’s Grove Methodist Church.
She was known for her exceptional mind and memory, her work ethic, her infectious laugh, beautiful smile and being the “Best Momma in the World”. Evelyn was loved and cherished by her family and many friends. Her loving and generous spirit will never be forgotten by anyone who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy will live on in her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband O.G. Ward; parents Wesley and Myrtle King; sisters Phyllis King and Maude Effler; and brothers Burnice King and Harry King.
She is survived by her loving children: Robbie Fox and wife Sandy, Martha Ward and Joel Cox, and Margaret Ward and Joe Newman; Grandchildren: Tabatha Fox Ogle and husband Bobby, Robert (Bubba) Fox, II and wife Jennifer; Great-grandchildren: Sam Ogle, Joe Ogle, Cassie Fox, and Allie Fox; Special Sister: Ann King; Brother: Thomas Hugh King and wife Dottie; Cousin: Rex Henry Ogle; and many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and family.
We would like to thank Sandi Vineyard for her kindness and exceptional care of our mother. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. William J. Fry and staff, and the staffs of UT Hospice and Sevierville Health & Rehab, for their compassionate care and kindness during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday, May 14 with funeral service to follow at 7 PM Tuesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Rev. David Carver and Judge Rex Henry Ogle will officiate. Family and friends will leave Atchley Funeral Home at 9:30 AM Wednesday, May 15 in procession to Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, Pigeon Forge for a 10 AM graveside service and interment with Rev. Jeff Blalock officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Fox, Bobby Ogle, Joe Ogle, James Newman, Will Salmon, and JT Cox. Honorary Pallbearer, Sam Ogle.
