Dorsey Deoin Angel, age 78, of Batesville, found eternal peace with His Savior December 8, 2005. He was born August 22, 1927 at Harriet, Arkansas. He was saved in 1963 and was a Baptist. His parents, William and Gladys Angel, a sister, Talmadge Angel Redman, and father-in-law, Henry Flippen Sisk preceded him in death. After a typical depression-era Ozark childhood, he was drafted into the United States Army and served as a sergeant ,1st Cavalry Division. He served in the post-war occupation of Japan in the late 1940s.

Dorsey attended State Teachers' College (now University of Central Arkansas). After working in various parts of the country, he married his wife of 52 years, Basil Faye Sisk Angel, December 24, 1953. His primary employment was with East Texas Motor Freight and Interstate Freight Line. Throughout his life he always worked various secondary jobs. He built houses, including several of their own, for many years, remodeled houses, and excelled in trading vehicles, farm equipment, and land. He loved raising cattle and could remember the price of some of the first he had bought. Two days before he passed he was telephoning about used tractors that were in the newspaper ads from his hospital bed.

Dorsey also loved sports, especially those in which his sons and grandsons played. Boxing was a favorite from his early years to the present.

Our dad was a loving, dedicated father to us all: one daughter, Gwen (Lynn) Sadler of Cabot, AR, and three sons, Jeff (Tammy ) Angel of Batesville, AR, Greg Angel of Cabot, AR, and Bryan (Melinda) Angel of Hensley, AR. He felt his mission in life was to worry about all his children and our families. He was quick to hug all of us and was proud of each of us, always bragging about us to others. He encouraged us and was eager to share his wisdom with us, sometimes when we did not particularly want to listen. He had a way with babies and children and most were drawn to him.

He has nine grandchildren who were the absolute delight of his days- Geoffrey Sadler, Gary Sadler, Aaron Sadler, Stephanie Angel, Jason Angel, Justin Angel, Cassidy Angel, Mahrle Angel, Macy Angel, and a soon-to-be born grandson.

He has two great-grandchildren whom he also adored, Brooke Sadler and Garrett Sadler, one niece, Linda Redman Martin, numerous nieces and nephews by marriage, and a dear mother-in-law, Melvie Sisk.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Profound thanks go to the many caretakers from White River Medical Center and various medical offices who always went beyond the call of duty for him especially in this last year.

Pallbearers are Gary Sadler, Aaron Sadler, Jason Angel, Justin Angel, Charles Flowers, and Scott Minick.

Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday, December 11, 2005.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville officiated by Bobby Minick and Tony Minick.

Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Redhill Cemetery at Marshall by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. (870) 793-4161
