ONE BODY DISCOVERED
AN ARM TORN OFF BY A SHARK
(BY TELEGRAPH, FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
Melbourne, Monday.
The body of a young man was discovered on
Saturday floating, face downward, near Picnic
Point. When it was landed by the police, it was
found that the left arm had been torn off — evi-
dently by a shark — but although the face was
much disfigured, the corpse was identified as that
of William Brown, 18 years of age, a son of the
well known distiller at Yarra Bend. The deceased
sailed with his brother and another young man in
a yacht about a week ago. It is supposed that she
foundered off Frankston.
