Paul E Fowler, 81, passed away peacefully at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh WI on Friday December 15, 2017, of natural causes.

Paul was born in Paterson, New Jersey, on May 29, 1936, the son of the late Jane Elizabeth Cornell and Titus Wood Fowler. Paul graduated from Cornell University, Ithaca NY, in 1959 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. After graduation, Paul spent 2 years working for Merrill Lynch as an investment broker and then married Justine Anne George, his college sweetheart, on February 18, 1961, in Westbury Methodist Church in Westbury, Long Island, NY. Paul and Justine moved to Oshkosh to enthusiastically begin their new life as dairy farmers. Paul had been active in farming since the age of 10 spending each summer with his grandparents, Edwin J and Julia Beebe Fowler on the Oshkosh family farm. Paul and Justine's foresight and innovative approach earned their recognition in 1967 and they were voted the Outstanding Young Dairy Couple for the Midwest by the AMPI (American Milk Producers Incorporated).

Paul and Justine started Northwest Environmental Systems in 1972 as a side business to their farming efforts. Paul and Justine created, owned and operated a game farm incorporated in 1973, Black Wolf Wildlife Association, dedicating their efforts to the preservation of natural habitat and wildlife. Paul was active in Oshkosh Southwest Rotary Club, Southwest Rotary Environmental Committee, Scenic Wisconsin, Pheasants Forever, Black Wolf Township Planning and Zoning Committee, Landmark Resort Board of Directors, Winnebago Sno-Pioneers, Wisconsin Farm Bureau, and Bridgekort Tennis Club. Paul was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Van Dyne, and greatly enjoyed his family, his friends, the farm, wildlife preservation, gardening, boating, camping, and frequent trips to Door County over the years.
